ending the year

Aside from all the parties and drinking sessions, this extended vacation has been quite a busy few days. And although work is taking a back seat at the moment, some of the events that have transpired can just tire you out… but in a good way.

Here are a few shots from my phone cam…

[baby thea just waking up]

[(ba)thor still asleep]

One stop was City Kart racing where Sean celebrated his 9th birthday with a few laps around the track.

[at city kart, posing by the podium]

[allana and her foxy ears and loose tooth]

And as it had been put off for quite a while, the kiddos were due for a visit to their dentist, Tita Mau.

[anshel getting injected]

[getting ready for the tooth extraction]

Of course, we couldn’t miss Peachy‘s 30th over at KFC, so we hopped over for a quick celebration.

We also drove over to C’ Italian restaurant for a quick bite and great Italian fare.

[mr. speed stacks, curly]

[tres chic allana showing off her missing tooth]

And hopped over to Dimasalang to check out some flowers.

[pink to red]

[flowers galore]

Yehey Kainan @ Kapihan

No, it’s not a blogger event. And no, it’s not even a Yehey sponsored event…

As I wrote in one of my earlier posts, Yehey Kainan @ Kapihan is actually an eatery in one of the malls located in Caloocan. My friend Belle, just sent me these photos yesterday.

Pretty funny if you think about it. Yehey name, Yahoo font. Wonder what their food tastes like.

online photo haven

Photography lovers and netizens, here’s a bit of good news… for a change. You can now purchase all your photographic needs at Hidalgo prices online.

I recently stumbled across Online Hidalgo over at Multiply, thanks to a tip from Euge.

In this shop, you can purchase the various latest products offered by most Camera providers, without having to deal with the huge mark ups that most malls place on their stock. And you can pay via GCash, PayPal, via Bank transfer and. of course, COD.

Finally, a local online retailer with cheap prices and convenient modes of payment. Now to save up!

DOT and MTV casual dinner

As part of an ongoing campaign to promote our beautiful country, DOT and long time partner MTV hosted a casual dinner tonight, over at The O Lounge of Alchemy.

The topic: DOTs (and MTVs) plans for next year. The guests of honor: none other than Tourism secretary himself, Joseph “Ace” Durano and Undersecretary Edu Jarque.

And as an added treat, Christine Gambito (Happy Slip, to the uninitiated) was also present at the event, to add a little color to the festivities.

Through a candid gathering, Secretary Durano made a few plans for next year known. The biggest of which is a culminating event to take place sometime in November entitled Rockipelago — a massive gathering of Fil-Am musical performers. Of course, names were withheld, so as to keep a tight lid on the bands involved… but a few hints were dropped, so we can all speculate.

Being that this was the first time the DOT got involved with an event as informal as the one held last night, i.e. a casual dinner with bloggers, it was quite surprising to see Secretary Durano and Undersecretary Jarque so at ease. In fact, Sec. Durano was so comfortable, he was the one cracking a few jokes to get the bloggers in a light mood.

As the evening progressed, and ideas were exchanged, we were even treated to a bit of magic by Kel Fabie.

All in all, I think it was a good night. Bloggers were given the privilege to find out first hand some of the plans that the DOT will be rolling out next year, together with MTV… and Secretary Durano was able to gather some insight into the mind of a blogger.

Watch out for more info in the coming months, as we see some of these plans unfold.

Here are some photos from the event…

seeing spots

As part of my ongoing experiments, here is another shot of various lights, taken out of focus.

one more cup of coffee

Coffee, over the years, has become one of my addictions. More so, during the colder days and freon filled office hours.

Yehey's PoPinoyan partay

With bands, food and booze aplenty, it was all smiles at the Yehey! PoPinoyan Christmas party last night at Grilla Bar and Grill along Kalayaan.

Clients, partners, bloggers, users and Yehey! employees mingled with each other in an eventful evening, hosted by poet / writer / actor / host Juddah Paolo.

A full buffet, free flowing alcohol, a few prizes and some great, up and coming bands fueled the party atmosphere, as Yehey! gave thanks to everyone that braved the traffic and attended the party, as well as recognize the support that everyone gave for a fruitful 2008.

As an added treat, and to celebrate our Pinoy Pop Culture, a few hundred lucky guests also got to take home a t-shirt with their favorite lines from movies, songs and various other popular media over the past few decades.

Thanks to everyone who made it.

Here are a few photos to browse through…

jayson and marie tie the knot

Yes, it’s another wedding photo set from one of the Yehey peeps.

I didn’t have my camera on this occasion, as I was running around the preceding days, so my mind was kind of “out of it”. But, as I am often seen doing, I pulled out my cam phone and took a few snaps.

better photos over at Jay’s multiply site.

more cam phone photos

As I really haven’t had much time to write, these past few weeks, I will simply put a few photos that I had taken during yosi breaks, meals and time with the kiddos.

[goodbye lolo pat -- denizens of the Katipunan area know him as Father Pat of the dela Strada parish... but we know him as lolo pat. Recently, he passed away at the age of 77. we will sorely miss him.]

prodigal father

Most of us are familiar with the parable of the Prodigal Son. Right now, I feel like the tables have turned.

After much promise to be mindful and conscious of our TeamYehey Blog, I have fallen into a rut of forgetfulness and neglect, leaving one of my baby projects gathering dust, so to speak.

As I have just written in one of the new posts, it has been a while — two months to be more precise (the exact number of days I can’t determine… or am just too lazy to count). But with a renewed sense of fidelity and vigor, I will strive to update the blog. Hopefully with the rest of the team, so as to let all of you in, on what’s going on.

new lomo photos

My friend Linsy gave me a roll of 35mm Fuji slide film a while back, but I never got around to using it. So when I sent the roll in to Digiprint, I was excited to see what came back.

shadow play and out of focus photography

There are days when I don’t feel like going the traditional route with photography. And recently, I have enjoyed taking photos out of focus. At times, the results come out pretty neat.

Here are a few samples…

Make Your Own SuperBowl Blogger's Event

A few bloggers were invited to partake in sampling new dishes that Super Bowl of China has to offer, this Yule season, including their new Christmas Roasts of Whole Chicken Stuffed w/ Holiday Machang and Christmas Ham.

To make things more interesting, bloggers were also given a chance to decorate their own bowls, to celebrate the festive season.

Here are some photos from the event.

My good friend and fellow photo enthusiast Jay finally tied the knot with his long time girlfriend Chez, last night, in a music filled ceremony.
