a taste of americana
Together with a few invited bloggers, I experienced a taste of Americana over at T.G.I.Friday’s, Bonifacio High Street. We were treated to a great meal and a bit of entertainment in celebratory anticipation for the inauguration of the United States’ 44th president.
Here are a few photos from my cell phone…
touch my body… fail
This video is too hilarious. Along with Ken Lee, this has got to be one of the greatest renditions of popular music.
The subtitles don’t hurt the comedy either.

Text Twist addiction
I rarely play games on the computer. Even more so, now that I am using a Mac. However, one of my all time favorite games is Text Twist. So much so, that I have become virtually addicted to the game.

I play TT hours on end. At times, I quit and sae my game to continue it at a later time. There was even one stretch that I played it for around 5 days — on and off, of course — and broke my personal high score, reaching 147 levels.
Of course, I don’t think anything will beat a great console game like Loco Roco or Patapon for the PSP, but for now, Text Twist will have to do.
Kev and Lea

Kevin and Lea finally came home for their church wedding, after a few years in the US. It was such a great moment, seeing old friends and sharing in a momentous occasion of great friends.
Phallic Lava
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to buy a Lava Lamp. Of course, they were a bit too expensive for a whimsical present to myself, so I always held off.
But this Christmas, the office had a surplus supply, so I received one.
Funny thing though… as it’s been really cold lately, the “lava” takes a while to heat up. And while observing the lamp, the goo formed the shape of a phallus.
Or am I simply Freudian in nature?
Twilight remake snafu
So the dust has settled and it is now known to all that there is going to be NO Twilight remake, less so a Filipino version.
The buzz on the news broke when Yehey Entertainment editor, Edgar O. Cruz initially wrote about the rumors floating around, but quickly retracted the story, as more info was made available to him.
Other media outlets picked up on the story and turned the whole reports into one big hullaballoo. In fact, even Hollywood gossip mogul Perez Hilton picked up on it (and linked the story)

Who would have thought that reported rumors would have gotten out of hand? At least Yehey is getting noticed.
Check out the story on Perez Hilton and read some of the comments. They’re pretty wild.
Gawad Kalinga Aldaba Hills
Every year, our family makes a trip to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan to visit the Gawad Kalinga village that Lola Fanny put up. And since her passing, we have made the trip a sort of birthday celebration… wherein she gives the gifts.
So armed with a hundred buckets of goods and extra fod items, we set off to celebrate Lola Fanny’s birthday the way she would have liked — by sharing her many blessings with others.
Here are some photos…
