Photo of the Day [POTD]: around the bend

IMG_1186
Why is it that we keep looking so far ahead? We sometimes tend to forget that what we are looking for is just actually around the corner.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: sunburn

A cooler full of ice cold beer and sand between my toes. I could stay under the sun all day.

digital lomo like

I decided to fit my Lomo ColorSplash Flash on my Lumix, just to test the results.

While it has become a bit difficult to get the right exposure, the results are pretty fun to view. In essence, with the Lumix output of semi- vignetting and the color imbalance caused by the flash, the results are lomo-like.

Here are a few samples.

Are you putting a price tag on my value to you? A little appreciation like a pat on the back could go further than a fat paycheck.

party at 28Narra

A meal at Tito Del and Tita Che’s is always a challenge. A challenge not to eat too much. From the appetizers to the dessert, there is always food aplenty. Add some wine (okay, a lot) and you’re in for a bit of gluttonous debauchery. Intended or not. Of course, this is on a regular day. But last night was a bit different. Lisa and Jon are going back to Boston and are pregnant, there were a few birthdays to celebrate (from both the Aldaba-Lim and Lazaro side), so naturally, the food took a massive upgrade.

From the Jamon Serrano to the various cheeses to the 2 huge slabs of Roast Beef to the pastas to the endless Häagen-Dazs and free-flowing wine and champagne, I didn’t know where to begin and when to end. As a result, I only have a few photos to show for it. In fact, most of them were taken when there was no food around.

Of course, as the night wore down, our attention turned to the star of our gatherings, Pilar.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: where’s your head at?

IMG_1173
Sometimes, we have to sacrifice the things that we feel we really want for the things we really need.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: choices

IMG_1167
Beggars can’t be choosers, or so the saying goes. I’ve come to realize that neither can I. Just getting by — eking out a living can be just as tough.

maiden flight

I gave in. I bought an LX-3… something I have been lusting over for a while. And for its maiden flight, here are some photos I took, testing the vibrance of colors on different subjects.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: ripped off

IMG_1159
There may be a certain disconnect between us. But our differences always made things more exciting.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: ground up

IMG_1152
I was with you when you were a tadpole in this business. And I stuck with you through thick and thin. The years passed and I still stayed a loyal fan, even if we grew apart. For you not to recognize me…

Photo of the Day [POTD]: let our response be

IMG_1150
It’s funny how we have a lot of generic and automatic answers to certain questions.
“How are you?”
Fine.

How about sharing a bit more.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: daybreak

IMG_1148
There’s something really special about waking up early to catch the sunrise. Deep breaths, a hot cup of java, a couple of smokes and the orange breaking skies are a great way to start the day.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: stomach versus heart

photo
There’s a weird feeling churning in my stomach, every time you appear. It may be butterflies you give me. But then again, it may be my pension for spicy food.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: between the lines

photo
You always speak in riddles. Deciphering your words is sometimes a ridiculous task.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: smug mug

photo
I never quite got used to that smug look on your face. Your smirk, pregnant with a secret that only you know.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: frogger

photo
There’s always a risk trying to get to you. You have an air of arrogance and etherealness. Yet, like moths to the flame, they all flock to you.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: google it

IMG_1132
It’s funny how much junk you amass over the years. We box things up and hide our stuff. But when the time comes for you to find something, you know exactly where it is.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: lost

IMG_1127
It’s really hard to tell. You’re neither here nor there. Yet, I still can’t give you up. You’re my only vice.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: poison in my ear

IMG_1122
Keep your rhetoric. Your silver-tongued promises and honey-coated words have left me in the lurch one time to many. And like flies to a piece of shit, I kept coming back for more. Never again.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: prime

IMG_1113

The glory days were once there. But we can’t all be golden gods forever.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: under pressure

IMG_1110
The pressure of getting it done right was just too much. It may seem like cowardice, but that’s what I feel I have to do.

creative stop motion video

The video was made from 60,000 photos, 9,600 prints, 1,800 frames. Amazing.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: gone

IMG_1104
You always liked to hide in the shadows and sneak up behind me. You would get such a laugh out of seeing me scream like a little girl. I would always get mad… then cry from all the laughter. I miss those days.

Photo of the Day [POTD]: sparks

IMG_1100
It really didn’t make sense to me at first. But like waking up from a really vivid dream, all the ideas came in a flash. But if you ask me to narrate it, I wouldn’t know where to start.
