Snapseed 1.4 Update

Snapseed, from Nik Software just got an update.

Among the new additions are retina graphics and Instagram support, which will now allow you to import your images directly into the photo editor.

As to the photo editing capabilities of Snapseed, there are also quite a few updates that will prove very useful:

1. Black & White enhancements – new algorithms and color filters to play around with. There are, of course, presets that will make your photo editing life much easier. If you have been using the app for some time, you will also notice that the presets have been given labels now. Instead of Style 1, Style 2 and so on, you can choose from Dark, Neutral, Contrast, etc. Also, the icon for the editor at the bottom has changed (see screencap provided).

2. Center Focus enhancements – Snapseed has beefed up the filer and focus points with a bit of a tweak. As with the B&W UI revisions, you will also find that the Center Focus editor also has names for the presets, as well as a bit more control for your editing pleasure.

3. New 7:5 aspect ratio – although not as major as the previous two enhancements, Snapseed now gives you the option to save your images with a new aspect ratio with this update.

I always love updates for my photo apps and Snapseed is no exception. As this is the #iphoneography app that I use the most, especially for my POTD series.
