Windows user?
Ready to change systems?
SWITCH is an Apple Premium Reseller which symbolizes the shift of windows users to Mac which just recently launched their second branch over at the Alabang Town Center.
During the opening, food was aplenty, drinks were flowing and a lot of comfort snacks, like cotton candy, hotdogs and popcorn were readily available. Music was provided by DJ Funk Avy. And the people behind SWITCH made sure that lots of cool gadgets and hot prizes were given away.
I myself came away with a pair of Chops earphones from Skull Candy.

starting wrong
I wanted to start the month right, by putting a blog entry on the 1st of the month. But as fate would have it, my Macbook Pro decided to die on me.
Okay, so die may be overstating it, but it’s as good as useless. For some reason, my four-five month old baby just decided to quit on me. I did everything I could to resuscitate it, but even the people at the Power Mac center couldn’t reformat it or fix it… so I had to bring it to one of the official distributor / service centers. Currently, it’s being diagnosed. There’s a huge probability that it’s a hard disk problem. I’m gonna have to wait a week or more before I get my machine back.
This new misfortune got me to thinking, too. I seem to be really unlucky with electronics. Apart from my trusty four year old 20D, everything else seems to be conking out on me. My TV remote (see previous entry) mysteriously stopped working, my pc at home just doesn’t seem to load (while it works fine when I bring it to the office), my mobile phones always seem to have bugs in them, one of the iPods I previously owned died and suddenly resurrected (after I bought a new unit) and now, my Mac.

Playing with icons
JayBoi introduced me to icons in the mac a few days ago, and ever since, I haven’t been able to stop fooling around with them. I love personalizing my own space, so this was a trippy way to do it.
This is what my finder looks like:

I have a lot more icons in store, and will probably be looking for more folders to change. I’m particularly fond of the Loco Roco and Patapon icons I scoured the net to download.
Oh, if you’re wondering how to change the icons for your mac, simply follow these steps:
- Copy the icon you want to use (command + C)
- Click (single) on the folder you want to edit.
- Double click and select Get Info.
- Click (single) on the icon at the top of the Get Info pop up.
- Paste the icon (command + V)…
… and voilá you have now changed your icon. Of course, you can also just purchase a program (like CandyBar) that will simplify these steps. But remember to back up your system folder icons, before changing anything as you may get sick of the revisions at one point.
macbook touch?
I just read over at Gizmodo that there’s a rumor that Apple may be releasing a MacBook Touch.
It’s basically an Apple Tablet…
And if you’re wondering what it may look like… “Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured multi-touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X.” [from the article over at Gizmodo]
